KYRA NIELSEN
ABOUT ME
As an Economics and IDEAS (Integrated Design, Engineering, Arts, and Society) student at Wesleyan University, I have had ample opportunity to combine my passions for creativity and analyzing real-world business applications. My background in fashion design, the ideating prototyping process, and financial research will continue to grow during my undergraduate career.

I work to expand my design experiences not only in the classroom, but I understand the value to real-life experience, teamwork, leadership, and skills that can only be found via the workforce and emerging myself in extra curriculars. Currently I work for both the Center of the Arts Director's Council as a member contributing to integrating the arts among Wesleyan's Campus and as a Gallery Assistant at our Zilkha Gallery, curating exhibits and guiding observers through the artwork on display.
Other opporunties on campus have simulated working in the design field, and as the Head of Design for our student-run economic and business magazine, I have gained valuable insight on leading the interworkings of a design team, and pushing out designs that I am proud of. As a digital designer for our stuent-run theatre production group, Spike Tape, I have worked with a wonderful staff to collaborate on the best ways to communicate to audiences the multitudes of feelings that a single scene conveys through graphic representations.

Through these jobs, I have been able to pursue my interest of developing aesthetic products and designs. In the future, I hope to implement market research to optimize producer output and user accessibility and apply these economic principles to protyping products. I am excited to expand my experience and knowledge in design, product engineering, and economics during my undergraduate career!
